A large eCommerce sporting goods store needed to launch a marketplace, they looked to Object Edge to help tackle this digital challenge. With 14 million registered users, 400,000 SKUs, and over 150 partners, this project required seamless, sophisticated execution.

Our Approach

In this marketplace project, the client needed multisite architecture for separate fashion and sporting goods marketplaces. The implementation included:

  • Oracle Commerce
  • Endeca search
  • Business Controls Console (in Oracle Commerce)
  • Partner portal

In order to provide a strong customer experience and meet business objectives, Object Edge led projects for:

  • Catalog Normalization at the SKU level to align products across partners
  • Creating selective promotions - applicable only to the brand’s SKUs (and not partners)
  • Structuring marketplace content display to elevate core brand SKUs more prominently than partners

The Results

A sophisticated, robust, multisite marketplace that enabled expanded products and shopping experiences for their large customer base.
