We conceived an architecture and roadmap, which was well-received by the customer. We were then asked by the customer to participate in vendor identification and platform evaluation. We recommended ATG, a well-known ecommerce platform, which offered the most flexible e-commerce capability among various alternatives. Based on our recommendations, the client selected ATG and awarded Object Edge the contract to implement B2B across the enterprise.
The implementation resulted in unprecedented B2B revenues for the client organization. The company was subject to an acquisition thereafter and as part of the convergence effort, most of the existing applications were removed, but the B2B platform, built by Object Edge remained untouched and was recognized as the e-commerce standard across the enterprise. ATG themselves recognized the implementation as the best ATG implementation in the wireless space. In recognition, ATG offered Object Edge worldwide partnership for ATG wireless implementations.
Following from the implementation, Object Edge built a number of frameworks as ATG extensions for Wireless Ecommerce. These frameworks, though focused on the wireless space have applicability for e-commerce implementation in any domain.
