E-Commerce Implementation – Leading Telecom Service Provider

Technology Enablement

Object Edge provides implementation services for ATG, the leading e-commerce platform in the market today. The platform typically offers multiple options to address different situations; the real implementation skill lies in the ability to choose the right options. Object Edge has a total rollout capability that allows for speedy go-to-market, with well-architected integration.

Case: B2B solution AT&T Wireless Services

Object Edge evolved the B2B strategy and built the B2B platform for AT&T using ATG. The implementation resulted in an unprecedented increase in revenues and the platform came to be recognized as the B2B standard across the enterprise. ATG also recognized the implementation as the best in the wireless space; and in recognition offered Object Edge worldwide partnership for wireless implementations.

One of the leading Telco service providers called in Object Edge to advice on IT strategy for their B2B business. While the customer had an excellent consumer business, their B2B business was significantly lagging behind the rest of the industry. The company was keen on re-vamping their B2B platform as a first step to correcting this state of affairs.

We conceived an architecture and roadmap, which was well-received by the customer. We were then asked by the customer to participate in vendor identification and platform evaluation.

The company was subject to an acquisition thereafter and as part of the convergence effort, most of the existing applications were removed, but the B2B platform, built by Object Edge remained untouched and was recognized as the e-commerce standard across the enterprise.

Following from the implementation, Object Edge built a number of frameworks as ATG extensions for Wireless E-Commerce. These frameworks, though focused on the wireless space have applicability for e-commerce implementation in any domain.
