Case: B2C solution Netshoes

Netshoes is one of the leading e-commerce retailers specializing in sporting goods in Brazil. To build this dynamic entity, they chose ATG as the e-commerce platform and Object Edge as the implementation partner, setting out to create a landmark e-commerce solution, a first-of-its-kind in the Brazilian market.

With this implementation: combining the e-commerce capabilities of ATG Platform, the potential for dynamic marketing offered by OE Accelerators, and Netshoes’ astute e-commerce strategies, the company has spearheaded a new e-commerce movement in Brazil, reiterating its status as market leaders.

The implementation called for functionality well-beyond ATG standard scope of supply, and we had to incorporate extensive features for dynamic marketing that touched search, promotions, media and campaigns. Customizations were additionally required to create commerce extensions, imaging services and data services. OE was in a unique position to meet the requirements, in view of its framework stack and its total conversance with architecture and integration.

As part of the implementation, we integrated with a number of third party vendors - Baynote for recommendations, Power Reviews for reviews, Scene 7 for image enlargement and manipulation and Interactive Intelligence for customer care functionality. For order fulfillment and other back end functionality, we integrated with Abacus.

The implementation included the following ATG modules - ATG Commerce, ATG Search, ATG Outreach and ATG Reporting Module. The first phase of the implementation went live in August 2010, and has performed superbly while challenged with skyrocketing growth in user base, orders, and overall site traffic.
